UK announces millions for Scottish nuclear naval base

UK finance minister George Osborne has announced fresh €700mn funding for Britain’s nuclear weapons home base at Faslane, Scotland in a move he said would create thousands of jobs. The SNP's defence spokesman Brendan O'Hara called for Faslane to be made into a "conventional base" rather than a nuclear hub.
