The EESC European Award for Excellent Design and Sustainability 2015

The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) presents the EESC European Award for Excellent Design and Sustainability in cooperation with the LifeCare Initiative. For the EESC this award is an important way of recognising exceptional design and promoting quality of life in Europe.

The EESC chose the LifeCare Initiative as its partner as it is an independent venture that seeks to promote product quality, innovation and outstanding design. The EESC's European Award showcases e.g. best products selected for the annual Home&Trend Award organised by LifeCare. The prize reflects the EESC's aims of actively and sustainably representing the interests of society and consumers. In a special two-stage judging process, the products submitted are evaluated not only by a competent panel of experts but also by consumers (the product purchasers) themselves. The EESC thus gives further recognition e.g. to winners of the Home&Trend awards. A jury of European experts representing organised civil society will select the best product in design and sustainability.
