More than €152 million to modernise Hungary's road infrastructure
The European Commission has approved two investments, for a total of more than €152 million from the European Regional Development Fund, to modernise the road infrastructure in the Hungarian Southern Great Plain region. Both these projects will significantly improve road safety, travel time and will have an important impact on the economic fabric of the region, enhancing the load bearing capacity of the roads.
These investments come through the Operational programme "Transport" under the priority axis "Improving regional accessibility". Through the European Regional Development Fund, the EU will finance almost €75 million out of €88 million for the first project, and more than €78 million out of €92 million for the second one.
