With chairing the Foreign Affairs Council i (FAC) for the first time, and hosting a number of key meetings, it has been a very hectic week for the HR/VP Federica Mogherini i.

High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini on Monday chaired the Foreign Affairs Council for the first time, where Ukraine, the Middle East Peace Process and Ebola were high on the agenda. Mogherini then went on to chair the Defence Foreign Affairs Council, discussing the progress after the European Council on Defence last December and steps to be taken until the next Council in June. The conclusions reiterated "the urgent need of enabling the EU and its Member States to assume increased responsibilities to act as a security provider, at the international level and in particular in the neighbourhood, thereby also enhancing their own security and their global strategic role by responding to these challenges together".

As well as meetings with Bolivian and Serbian Foreign ministers and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Mogherini took part in two important events for Ukraine and Georgia. She promised to work together towards a further deepening of Georgia's political association and economic integration with the EU at the first Association Council meeting between the EU and Georgia and signed an agreement with Ukraine to launch the Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform on 1 December.
