Iceland has no plans to re-open EU talks says minister

Iceland will not re-enter talks to join the EU, the country's finance minister said Monday. Speaking at a conference of his Independence party, Bjarni Benediktsson stated that talks had "come to an end". The centre-right government featuring the Independence and Progressive parties effectively killed off Iceland's EU talks in 2013.
