EU and Switzerland edging closer to free movement deal

The EU and Switzerland are close to ending a spat over freedom of movement, AFP reports. In February, the Alpine country voted to reestablish immigration controls, jeopardising a range of agreements with the EU. Switzerland is a non-EU member of the border-free Schengen area and the EU internal market.
