Voorzitter eurogroep bezoekt Slovenië (en)

On 21 October Eurogroup President Jeroen Dijsselbloem i visited Slovenia, where he met President Barut Pahor, Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek and other government representatives to discuss Slovenia's current economic situation.

The aim of Mr Dijsselbloem's visit was to gain more insight into Slovenia's efforts to reduce its budget deficit and reform its economy and financial sector.

During the day Mr Dijsselbloem held talks with the Slovenian President, Barut Pahor, the Prime Minister, Alenka Bratušek, the Minister of Finance, Uroš Čufer, and the Governor of the Central Bank, Boštjan Jazbec.

The Eurogroup President also held a meeting with the Slovenian parliamentary committees for European and Financial affairs.

Mr Čufer and Mr Dijsselbloem concluded the visit with a joint press conference, where Mr Dijsselbloem stressed that dealing with the problems in the financial sector was crucial for Slovenian economic recovery. He also underlined the need for structural reforms and to continue the privatisation programme.
