Former French president Giscard d'Estaing has told Newsweek that German finance minister Schaeuble, not Dutchman Dijsselbloem i, should chair the Eurogroup, because Schaeuble has "political authority" and is "moulded from the same clay" as EU leaders. He said the Eurogroup should hold more power over national capitals in future.
