Catalonië neemt onafhankelijkheidsverklaring aan (en)

Spanish region Catalonia has moved closer to a referendum on secession after its parliament backed a declaration of independence. Although only symbolic, the declaration, which was passed by an 85 to 41 majority, puts further pressure on the centre-right government in Madrid to allow a public vote.
