Barroso: een onafhankelijk Schotland moet onderhandelen over EU-lidmaatschap (en)

In a written parliamentary answer to a Scottish Labour MEP European Commission president Jose Barroso i has confirmed an independent Scotland would need to renegotiate it’s EU membership terms. Existing treaties “would no longer apply”, he wrote, meaning Scotland would need to negotiate treaty opt-outs on euro, Schengen and budget rebate.
