Europees Parlement akkoord met Tonio Borg als nieuwe EU-commissaris (en)

MEPs Wednesday voted in favour of Maltese national Tonio Borg i becoming EU health commissioner with 386 in favour, 281 against and 28 abstentions. Prior to the vote there had been some uncertainty about whether he would secure a majority with left-leaning deputies objecting to his socially conservative views.
