Catalan leader Artur Mas has urged Spanish premier Mariano Rajoy i to ask for an EU bailout, while rejecting deficit limits set for his region next year. “Spain has the potential to overcome the situation, but it will need assistance for some time,” reads his statement on the regional government's website.
