There are nine candidates running in the April French presidential elections, the French authorities announced Monday. Aside from the incumbent, Nicolas Sarkozy i and his main challenger, the Socialist Francois Hollande, far-right Marine Le Pen i, left wing Jean-Luc Mélenchon i and E iva Joly for the ecologist party are among those also running.
