Intergovernmental accession conferences at ministerial level are to be held with Turkey and Croatia on Monday 21 December in Brussels as part of the EU enlargement process. The meetings will be chaired by Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt.
The negotiating chapter on the environment (chapter 27) will be opened at the conference with Turkey.
Two negotiating chapters, concerning the right of establishment and freedom to provide services (chapter 3) and social policy and employment (chapter 19), will be closed at the conference with Croatia.
