Raad voor Onderwijs, Jeugdzaken en Cultuur vergadert over jeugdbeleid (en)

The Council meeting will start with a session on youth policy at 15.00 on Monday 11 May under the presidency of the Czech Minister of Education, Youth and Sports.

The session on education will start on Tuesday 12 May at 10.00. The culture and audiovisual items will be addressed from 15.00 under the presidency of the Czech Minister of Culture.

Youth

The Council will hold exchange of views and adopt conclusions on evaluation of the current framework for European cooperation in the youth field. This will also be the subject of debate at the lunch of youth ministers.

Education

The Council is due to adopt conclusions on partnerships between education and training institutions and employers in the context of lifelong learning. After an exchange of views, the Council will also adopt a new strategic framework for European cooperation in education and training until 2020.

Culture

The Council is due to adopt conclusions on culture as a catalyst for creativity and innovation. The Council will also designate the European Capital of Culture for 2012 and 2013. In addition, a draw will be organised to select two member states that will each recommend one candidate to sit on the selection panel and the monitoring and advisory panel in the period 2010-2012.

The Council will hold an exchange of views on creative content online.
