The President of the EU General Affairs and External Relations Council, Slovenian Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, held a meeting with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in Stockholm on the margins of the review conference on Iraq.

They discussed Kosovo and particularly the tasks which await the United Nations and the European Union prior to the entry into force of the Kosovo constitution as well as thereafter. Minister Rupel outlined the EU Presidency's endeavours aimed at ensuring stability in the region. "The European Union is committed to the decisions and positions adopted in December 2007, and to policies which have been approved a number of times; these are the lines which cannot be crossed. Kosovo's territorial integrity is among them. Patience is required and the procedure has to be agreed upon", stated the Slovenian Foreign Minister.
