Ministers kiezen uit drie kandidaten voor nieuwe mensenrechtencommissaris (en)

Strasbourg, 08.09.2005 - The Committee of Ministers has just drawn up a list of three candidates for the post of Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, to be submitted to the organisation's Parliamentary Assembly.

-Marc Verwilghen (Belgium)
The Assembly will elect the new Commissioner for Human Rights during its October session (Strasbourg, 3-7 October 2005). He will replace Alvaro Gil Robles at the end of his term of office.
Prior to the election, the Assembly's sub-committee on Human Rights will interview the three candidates in Paris on 15 September.
