Europe Lecture speaker Vike-Freiberga: Promoter of women's empowerment

DEN HAAG (PDC i) - Europe Lecture speaker Vaira Vike-Freiberga i is a member of the Council of Women World Leaders. The Council of Women World Leaders is a network of current and former women presidents and prime ministers. Its mission is to promote gender equality and to support women's participation and representation at the highest political levels. By relying on the symbolic importance and substantive experience of its members, the Council seeks to increase the visibility of women both nationally and internationally.

From 1999 to 2007, Vike-Freiberga served as the first female president of Latvia. She is currently president of the World Leadership Alliance - Club de Madrid. Vike-Freiberga is an example for women who seek to embrace the challenge of leadership. Via her membership of the Council on Women World Leaders she shares her experiences and contributes to the empowerment of women around the world.
