The European Commission has approved an investment of EUR 66.5 million from the European Regional Development fund (ERDF) to the construction of 2,908 km broadband infrastructure in Lubelskie. This project directly contributes to reaching the objectives of the ‘Digital Agenda for Europe’ in terms of basic broadband access and Next Generation Access and opens a door to the digital economy in this region. As a result of the project, 316,000 more people will be covered by broadband access in one of Poland’s less developed regions and 92.7% of the population is expected to be within the reach of basic broadband infrastructure, which is an increase by approximately 15%.
