EU wil dat onderwijs beter aansluit op behoeften arbeidsmarkt (en)
With the objective of preparing the successful implementation of the future programme "Erasmus i for all" the Commission has launched a call for proposals for "Sector Skills Alliances". A public information session will be held in the Auditorium of the Madou building, Place Madou 1, 1210 Brussels, on Thursday 10 May 2012.
The Alliances should help ensure that vocational and educational training (VET) better responds to labour market needs. This requires an improved understanding of emerging and evolving sectors and their skills needs, as well as better mechanisms to translate this understanding into training provision.
Sector Skills Alliances will promote cooperation between three categories of partners: the world of education and training (VET providers); sector-specific expertise (including social partners, sectoral federations, Chambers etc.); and bodies involved in education and training systems (public or private bodies or authorities).
Drawing on evidence of skills needs and trends, the Alliances will work to design and deliver joint curricula and methods which provide learners with the skills required by the labour market. The overall goal is systemic impact on training in the economic sectors concerned in order to increase their competitiveness.
The call for proposals is published on the following webpage http://ec.europa.eu/education/calls/s0112_en.htm, deadline for applications is 16 August 2012.
For security reasons, in order to register for the information session it is necessary to send an email to EAC-SSA-2012@ec.europa.eu before May 5, 2012 stating your name, nationality, occupation, organisation, date of birth, number passport or identity card and their expiration date.
